Local MC Container Driver Wanted in Wollongong

Murrell Freight Services is looking for an experienced Local MC Container Driver to join its Wollongong transport team.

This is a full-time, permanent day shift role operating A-Double combinations across local and regional routes.

You'll play an important part in moving freight safely and on time while working closely with the Murrell transport team.

About the Role

As a Local MC Container Driver, you'll operate heavy vehicles across the Illawarra and surrounding regions.

Your work will focus on safe, efficient and reliable freight movements.

Responsibilities will include:

- Operating MC A-Double combinations
- Completing local and regional freight movements
- Transporting containerised freight
- Following assigned routes and schedules
- Completing pickups and deliveries on time
- Assisting with safe loading and unloading
- Applying correct load restraint procedures
- Recording work and rest periods
- Recording kilometres travelled
- Managing fuel and toll receipts
- Conducting daily pre-trip inspections




- Reporting mechanical or safety concerns
- Following heavy vehicle road laws
- Working closely with the Transport Manager
- Supporting daily freight and logistics operations

Above all, safety and compliance will be central to every run.

What We’re Looking For

To be considered, you'll need:

- Current MC Licence
- Experience operating heavy vehicle combinations
- Good knowledge of load restraint
- Experience across a variety of freight types
- Sound knowledge of road transport regulations
- Confidence using onboard reporting technology
- Ability to use tablet-based systems
- Skilled and reliable attitude
- Ability to work as part of a transport team
- Strong commitment to vehicle safety

A current MSIC Card is preferred and is a requirement of the role.

Safety & Compliance

- NHVAS Mass requirements
- NHVAS Maintenance requirements
- Load restraint requirements
- Company safety policies
- Heavy vehicle road transport legislation

You'll also be expected to take a proactive approach to vehicle safety and compliance.
