Kangaroo Island Community Education (KICE), Kangaroo Island, South Australia is a multi-campus school which was formed in 2005 as a result of a community initiative to review the model of education delivery on Kangaroo Island.

The three campuses: Kingscote, Parndana and Penneshaw have come together in a collaborative arrangement linking childcare, preschool and school education with a birth to lifelong learning focus. Our preschools and schools are the heart of local communities. They are safe, inclusive, and collaborative – a place where every child and young person is encouraged to contribute, develops positive relationships, has a say in their learning, and where their needs, interests, languages and cultures are recognised and supported.

Kingscote Campus is a welcoming, community-focused school located in Kingscote, and are looking for a passionate and experienced Middle Years Senior Leader to join their team.

What you will do:

n

Work with the KICE Primary Years Leadership Team to lead and support teachers in the implementation of the SA Curriculum and SA Strategy for Public Education while building a positive and collaborative culture in which all staff see learning is a collective responsibility and feel they have efficacy.

Work closely with the Inclusion and Student Wellbeing Leader and teachers at Kingscote Campus to ensure all yrs7-9 students have equitable access to high-quality learning

Collaborative leadership using data to inform teaching and learning and the School Improvement Plan

n

Build staff capability and qualified growth through active instructional leadership, including mentoring, coaching, and facilitating high-impact professional development, while managing day-to-day operations to create optimal and safe learning environments.

Build a positive and inclusive school culture through collaborative leadership, effective communication, and strong partnerships with staff, families, and external agencies.

At this site, you will receive an additional $3,603 in country incentives in your first year through:

- Country Incentives Zone Allowance: $2,261 per year
n
- One-off incidentals payment: $589
n

n

Locality allowances:

n

n
- Increased cost of living and some aspects of isolation: $753 per year
n
- After your first year, you will continue to receive the ongoing allowances each year, currently $3,014.
n

You may also be eligible for:

- a 20% rental subsidy

- payment of removal and relocation costs; on average approximately $7000*

- travel and accommodation costs for medical and dental treatment.
