The Role

As the Program Manager for the Mackay Wellbeing Centre, you will lead the daily operations of a residential recovery service and a Community Care program. In this pivotal role, you will ensure the delivery of holistic, client-focused services that create meaningful outcomes.

You will oversee program performance, staff development, resource and budget management, while ensuring full compliance with funding agreements, legislation, organisational policies and procedures, and the Human Services Quality Framework (HSQF) as a key compliance framework.

As part of a collaborative state-wide team, you will work closely with other Program Managers and key stakeholders to drive continuous improvement and uphold the mission and values of SVDP QLD.

Key responsibilities include:





- Ensure all activities comply with relevant funding guidelines, legislative requirements, and SVdP’s policies and procedures, while effectively managing financial, human, and operational resources.
- Lead program operations to deliver high-quality services and achieve positive client outcomes.
- Monitor service quality, maintain and actively work through the continuous improvement register, and implement practical solutions to strengthen service delivery and compliance.
- Supervise and support the implementation of new initiatives, community outreach programs, intake processes, and care coordination activities.
- Foster a positive and supportive team culture through strong leadership, mentoring, and staff development.
- Build and maintain productive relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Oversee administrative tasks, including reporting, rostering, and accurate documentation.
- Promote a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.

This is a Permanent, Full time Position (38 hours per week) role based in Mackay.

To be successful in the role, you will meet the following criteria:

- Tertiary qualifications in Community Services or related field or tertiary qualifications in Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) where position is within a Drug and Alcohol rehabilitation or aftercare facility




- Bachelor’s degree or above in a health-related discipline, health management, or a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience in role of a similar nature, including responsibility for the management and operational outcomes of a program, service or division
- Demonstrated management and leadership skills, including human resources, budget and financial management, quality assurance, risk management, WH&S;, and reporting to internal and external funding bodies.
- Proven organisational skills in managing and prioritising multiple tasks through adept efficiency tools and/or IT skills
- Strong knowledge of industry standards and best practice, including the ability to work within national & state-level AOD strategies, relevant funding guidelines and legislative requirements relating to the delivery of program outcomes, safety and risk
- Understanding of and commitment to the philosophy of the St Vincent de Paul Society Queensland and an ability to work in accordance with policies and procedures to promote the values and mission of the Society
