A qualified and an experienced Chef required for an Italian restaurant located in Gold Coast.

About the role

The full-time position at our restaurant is responsible to deliver the high standards of customer dining experience in a fine dining set up, planning, preparing, and presenting authentic Italian cuisine, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, hygiene, and consistency. As a Chef you shall oversee kitchen operations, manage food preparation processes, maintain inventory of ingredients, and comply with all applicable food safety regulations while delivering an exceptional dining experience for guests. The position holder will be directly reporting to the senior management.

Key responsibilities

1. Open and set up the kitchen everyday
2. Cook to order lunch and dinner menu as per restaurant recipes
3. Assist and instruct cooks to prepare and cook food
4. Inspect food preparation and serving areas to ensure observance of secure, sanitary food-handling practices
5. Assist restaurant management in catering when required




6. Maintain inventory and order restaurant supplies
7. Support the training and success of job work experience members and volunteers
8. Organize work experience members and volunteers while providing appropriate guidance
9. Assist restaurant management in making and editing restaurant menus
10. Adhere to all current and prevalent safety, nutrition, food handling and sanitation requirements

About you

1. Kitchen Management and Hospitality Qualifications – Cert IV AQF or above
2. Minimum of one (1) year working experience
3. Excellent English language reading and speaking skills
4. Working rights required in Australia
5. Availability to work on the weekend
6. Ability to perform tasks under high pressure atmosphere
7. Maintaining excellent personal and workplace hygiene
8. Ability to work with staff from diverse backgrounds
