Role/s: EL1 Scrum Master

The EL1 Scrum Master (Labour Hire) is accountable under broad direction to undertake complex work that delivers quality outcomes for the delivery of large ICT projects for the NDIA.

The EL1 Scrum Master (Labour Hire) will be leading and co-ordinating scrum teams and Agile practices and works closely with Business Analysts, QA, Service Design, UX/UI and Development Teams under the direction of the Project Manager.

The EL1 Scrum Master (Labour Hire) will be an integral part of more than one project team and requires the ability to understand the technical project deliverables, resource capacity, reporting requirements including burndown charts and other Agile artefacts and can resolve issues and risks across a broad range of activities of substantial depth and significant detail. The role requires providing servant master leadership to their teams in the planning and coordination of the team's activities as well allocating and monitoring of work items.

The EL1 Scrum Master (Labour Hire) is required to coordinate and assume responsibility to undertake all Agile ceremonies for detailed or sensitive projects that may include performing varied activities that contribute to strategic or operational outcomes that support the NDIA's objectives to build a world-leading National Disability Insurance Scheme.

Key duties and responsibilities

Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

- Leading one or more Squads in an Agile project environment including software development,



implementations and other project deliveries.
- A high-level of experience and skill in Jira will enable the Scrim Master to manage the Squad's work and backlog including development of reports and burndown charts to track velocity and continually improve team estimations and forecasting.
- Estimating, sizing and managing User Stories and the product backlog along with working closely with Business Analysts to formulate User Stories, Acceptance Criteria and the Definition of Done
- Engaging with the Test function to ensure timely testing and allocation of defect fixes from the backlog
- Leading Program Implement (PI) planning activities to map the project end-to-end and ensure delivery of a useable product at the end of every Sprint
- Managing project scope and timeline via sprint and release planning in line with wider organisational commitments in consultation with the team and Project and Program Managers.
- Coordinating and leading sprints and retrospective meetings which review the previous sprint and daily scrum stand-ups.
- Supporting the Product Owners to develop and manage product backlogs, recent requests and remove barriers.
- Guiding design teams to higher Scrum maturity and ongoing improvement.
- Helping to build a productive environment and culture where team members have accountability for the product.
- Managing the governance, stage gates and reporting of the project against Agency frameworks and escalating concerns, as necessary.
- Coaching team members in agile frameworks and scrum practices.
