The Role
We are seeking experienced Mechanical Engineers / Fitters to join the team, performing specialised up-tower maintenance, repair and component change-out activities across the wind industry. This is a hands-on role combining field-based work across at wind farms, as well as workshop-based maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
In this hands-on technical role, you will be responsible for inspection and maintenance of equipment across regional customer sites (70%) and our clients’ workshop (30%), based in the Northern suburbs of Melbourne.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Diagnose faults and carry out equipment repairs, overhauls and maintenance, both on site and in the workshop
- Conduct equipment and drive inspections using techniques such as videoscope inspection, vibration analysis (VA) and thermography.
- Prepare clear technical reports documenting inspection results, findings and recommendations.
- Provide technical support and assistance to customers.
- Develop, review and update risk assessments for site and workshop activities.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with WHS processes, procedures and safety requirements.

Key Skills
- Certificate III in Mechanical Engineering, Fitting, or a related mechanical trade qualification.
- Gearbox overhaul and repair experience is highly desirable.
- Experience undertaking up-tower wind turbine repairs and/or major component change-outs within the wind industry will be highly regarded.
- GWO training and current certifications are highly advantageous; however, training can be provided for the right candidate.
- Demonstrated experience working in industrial site environments is essential.
- Strong hands-on experience with equipment strip-down and inspection, testing, assembly and reassembly.
- Ability to accurately take and record measurements, inspection results and other technical information.
- A strong commitment to safety, quality and following established procedures.
