Base salary will be in the range $145,961 - $168,043 + 17% super (Academic Level C). Secondments can be considered for the preferred candidate.

About This Opportunity

Join the University of Queensland's Medical School in a pivotal clinical education leadership role and help shape the next generation of doctors. As Site Coordinator, QEII Hospital, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality clinical education across all four years of UQ's Doctor of Medicine (MD) program, ensuring students receive an outstanding learning experience within one of Queensland's leading healthcare environments.

Acting as the vital link between the Medical School and QEII Hospital, you will provide academic leadership, coordinate clinical teaching and assessment activities, and foster a supportive and engaging learning culture for both students and clinical educators. This is an opportunity to influence medical education at a local and broader clinical unit level, working closely with clinicians, academics, hospital leaders, and professional staff to deliver an integrated and innovative program of clinical learning.

Beyond teaching leadership, you will contribute to the scholarship of teaching and learning, support the development and mentoring of clinical educators, and strengthen partnerships between UQ and Metro South Health. Your impact will be seen not only in the quality of the student experience, but also in the continued growth of QEII Hospital as a centre of excellence for clinical teaching, learning, and professional development.

Key responsibilities will include:

- Teaching: Provide academic leadership for the delivery of clinical education at QEII Hospital,



coordinate teaching and assessment activities across all four years of the Doctor of Medicine (MD) program, mentor and support students and clinical educators, foster a positive learning environment, contribute to curriculum development, and lead the coordination of clinical examinations and educational activities.
- Research: Contribute to the scholarship of teaching and learning, apply best-practice educational research methodologies, undertake independent and collaborative research projects, evaluate educational initiatives, and produce high-quality research outputs that advance medical education.
- Supervision and Researcher Development: Supervise and mentor medical students, trainees, and staff, support the development of clinical educators, recruit and mentor the UQ Academic Education Registrar, provide coaching and performance feedback, facilitate professional development opportunities, and contribute to the supervision of doctors in training programs.
- Citizenship and Service: Represent the Medical School within QEII Hospital and the broader health sector, strengthen partnerships between UQ and Metro South Health, contribute to School, Faculty and University committees and initiatives, support a respectful and inclusive learning setting, undertake administrative responsibilities, participate in professional development, and promote the PA-Southside Clinical Unit as a centre of excellence for teaching and learning.

About You

- Medical qualification with specialist registration (or eligibility for specialist registration) with AHPRA and a strong record of clinical practice.
- Demonstrated substantive clinical expertise at QEII Hospital as a Senior Medical Officer, with an established clinical appointment and active permanent clinical FTE at QEII Hospital.
- Demonstrated excellence in clinical teaching, with experience supporting the education and development of medical students and trainees.
- Expertise in contemporary medical education and a commitment to delivering high-quality learning experiences in clinical settings.
- Experience in educational scholarship, research, or the application of evidence-based approaches to teaching and learning.
- Proven ability to build effective relationships and collaborate with clinicians, academics, health service partners, and professional bodies.
- Outstanding communication, leadership and mentoring skills, with a commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive and student-centred learning environment.
