A growing energy infrastructure business is seeking an experienced Design Manager to lead multidisciplinary design delivery across major transmission, substation and grid connection projects in Victoria. The initial focus will be on a hyperscale data centre project. Data centre experience is not essential, if you come from a strong background in utilities / grid connected projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead multidisciplinary design delivery across data centre, transmission, substation and grid connection projects.
- Coordinate electrical, civil, structural, protection & control, SCADA and associated disciplines.
- Manage design programmes, deliverables, reviews and approval processes.
- Manage Package Managers, discipline leads and design resources.
- Act as the key design interface with clients and Network Service Providers.
- Identify and manage technical risks, issues and design changes through to resolution.
About You
- Engineering degree in Electrical, Civil, Structural or related discipline.
- 10+ years' experience in design management or senior engineering roles within power infrastructure.
- Strong experience across substations, transmission lines or grid connection projects.
- Data centre experience an advantage
- Strong knowledge of AS/NZS standards and NSP/utility requirements.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing client/NSP interfaces.
- CPEng/MIEAust or equivalent highly desirable.
