1300SMILES Douglas is seeking an experienced Practice Manager to lead our team, drive practice performance and create a positive environment for both patients and employees.

Located on the James Cook University campus, just minutes from Townsville University Hospital, our practice serves a diverse community of students, healthcare professionals, families and long-term patients. You'll join an established practice with an experienced clinical team and play an important role in its continued growth and success.

Job Description

As Practice Manager, you will:

- Lead, coach and develop the practice team, building a positive and accountable culture
- Take ownership of day-to-day operations and overall practice performance
- Work closely with clinicians to maintain efficient workflows and high standards of patient care
- Monitor practice performance and identify opportunities to improve growth, efficiency and patient engagement
- Drive initiatives that enhance the patient journey from their first interaction through to treatment completion
- Oversee administrative, compliance and operational requirements
- Support recruitment, onboarding, performance management and ongoing team development
- Build strong relationships across the practice and lead by example

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you'll bring:

- Previous Practice Management experience within a dental or healthcare setting
- Robust people leadership skills, with a track record of coaching and developing teams




- A solid understanding of dental practice operations, KPIs and financial performance
- The ability to identify opportunities for improvement and turn them into action
- Excellent organisational skills and confidence managing competing priorities
- Clear communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with clinicians, patients and support teams
- Strong computer skills, with experience using dental practice management software considered highly desirable.
- A genuine commitment to creating a positive experience for both patients and the team
