As a Senior Corporate Counsel and Team Leader at TAL, you'll play a key role in helping customers navigate complex disputes and litigation matters with fairness, care and confidence. Partnering across the business, you'll guide strategic decision making, foster a culture of continuous improvement, and support the growth of a high-performing team. By combining deep expertise with a customer-first mindset, you'll help deliver trusted outcomes that protect what matters most to Australians, while bringing TAL's purpose and values to life every day.

In This Role You Will

- Lead and develop a high-performing team that delivers trusted legal and dispute resolution outcomes.
n
- Provide expert legal advice to support sound decision making on complex claims, disputes and emerging risks.
n
- Shape dispute resolution strategies that achieve fair, commercially balanced and customer-focused outcomes.
n
- Influence business outcomes through proactive engagement with senior stakeholders on material legal and regulatory matters.
n
- Drive continuous improvement and knowledge sharing to strengthen capability, consistency and compliance.
n
- Partner across TAL to deliver strategic priorities, enable change and enhance customer experience.
n
- Champion consistent, high-quality dispute resolution practices that strengthen customer trust and regulatory confidence.

Qualifications
n
n
- Admitted legal practitioner with a minimum of 8 years' post qualification experience
n
- Strong understanding of insurance law, life insurance legislation and dispute resolution frameworks
n
- Experience managing complex matters with courts, tribunals and external dispute resolution bodies
n
- Exceptional written, verbal communication and legal drafting skills
n
- Ability to build trusted relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels
n
- Collaborative approach with a strong commitment to teamwork and shared success
n
- Experience leading or developing people, with a passion for coaching and supporting growth
n
n
