Industry Partnership Manager
This is a leadership role for someone who wants to own the numbers, not just chase it. Sureway Skills Training (SST) is looking for an Industry and Partnerships Manager to lead our national sales, business development and industry partnership strategy, and to build a team around you who can help you deliver it.
You will own the pipeline end to end, from the first conversation with an employer through to a signed agreement and a smooth handover into delivery. You will work closely with our General Manager - Training to set the targets, then be accountable for hitting them nationally. And you'll be the person industry bodies, government stakeholders and group training organisations think of when they think of SST.
If you have spent your career building pipeline, closing deals and backing a team to do the same, and you want a role where your judgement on what's worth chasing actually shapes the strategy across the whole country, this one's worth a conversation.
What You'll Be Doing
· Develop and drive SST's national sales, business development and industry partnership plan in consultation with the General Manager - Training, then own delivery against the targets you help set.
· Manage the national sales pipeline end to end, including lead generation, qualification, forecasting, conversion and reporting, so every opportunity has clear next steps and a explicit owner.
· Build and grow new business across government-funded training, employer-funded training, fee-for-service programs, skill sets, micro-credentials and workforce development, while maintaining the long-standing relationships that keep business coming back.
· Lead proposals, capability statements and commercial negotiations for complex or high-value opportunities,
working within delegated authority and in step with the General Manager - Training.
· Keep a close eye on the market nationally, including funding settings, competitor activity and emerging workforce needs, so SST is positioned ahead of where the opportunities are heading, not chasing them after the fact.
· Lead, coach and support your sales and business development team, setting clear expectations and helping them convert activity into results.
· Coordinate the handover of won business into operations across states, so what you sell is what gets delivered, on time and to the standard employers expect.
What You'll Bring
· A track record in sales, business development, strategic partnerships or commercial growth, ideally within VET, RTO, employment services or workforce development.
· Solid knowledge of the Australian VET and Employment Services sectors, including government-funded training, contracts and employer engagement.
· Hands-on experience managing a sales pipeline, CRM systems, forecasting and key accounts, with the numbers to back up your results.
· The communication and negotiation skills to hold your own with senior stakeholders, internally and externally, and the leadership instinct to bring a team along with you.
· A relevant tertiary qualification in Business, Sales, Marketing, Management, VET or a related field, or the industry experience to match, and a willingness to travel as the role requires.
