Sante Recruitment is seeking experienced Rehabilitation Physicians and Geriatricians to join the rehabilitation service at Calvary Lenah Valley Hospital in Hobart, Tasmania.

The Opportunity

n

The successful Specialist will work within a private hospital rehabilitation ward, providing specialist medical care to patients requiring multidisciplinary rehabilitation following acute illness, surgery, injury or significant functional decline.

n

You will work closely with an experienced multidisciplinary team to develop individualised rehabilitation and discharge plans, helping patients maximise their independence and achieve the best possible functional outcomes.

n

The role would suit either a Rehabilitation Physician or Geriatrician with an interest in multidisciplinary rehabilitation and the management of complex older patients.

n

The Role Includes

n

n
- Specialist assessment and management of rehabilitation inpatients.
n
- Management of patients with complex medical and functional needs.
n
- Comprehensive geriatric assessment where appropriate.
n
- Development and review of individualised rehabilitation and discharge plans.
n
- Close collaboration with physiotherapists, occupational therapists, nurses, speech pathologists and other allied health professionals.
n
- Management of medical issues arising during the rehabilitation admission.
n
- Liaison with acute hospitals, GPs, families and community services.
n
- Participation in multidisciplinary case conferences.
n




- Supporting safe and appropriate transition from hospital to home or ongoing care.
n
- Contribution to quality improvement and clinical governance.
n

About You We Would Particularly Like To Hear From

- FRACP-qualified Rehabilitation Physicians
n
- FRACP-qualified Geriatricians
n
- Specialists with significant experience in rehabilitation medicine or geriatric medicine.
n
- Internationally trained Specialists with comparable qualifications.
n
- Overseas-trained Physicians who are eligible for, or progressing through, an Australian specialist registration pathway.
n

You Will Ideally Have

n

n
- Specialist registration with AHPRA, or eligibility to obtain specialist registration.
n
- Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) or equivalent overseas specialist qualification.
n
- Experience managing complex medical and rehabilitation patients.
n
- Strong communication and multidisciplinary teamwork skills.
n
- A patient-centred approach to rehabilitation and functional recovery.
n
