About the Opportunity This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of HPG's national contracting function. Combining operational leadership with hands-on delivery, you'll lead the end-to-end contracting lifecycle while acting as the business's internal expert on Modern Awards, labour hire compliance and temporary workforce best practice.
Working closely with Recruitment Consultants, Contracting, Payroll and Finance, you'll provide commercial advice, support consultants to confidently grow temporary business and drive continuous improvement across systems and processes.
Importantly, this isn't a purely desk-based operations role. You'll build proactive relationships with our clients and contractors, conduct onsite WHS visits and use everyday conversations to identify opportunities, generate leads and strengthen HPG's client partnerships.

We're looking for someone who combines robust operational and compliance expertise with commercial curiosity.



You'll enjoy picking up the phone, building relationships and recognising when a conversation could create an opportunity for HPG – without this being a traditional sales or business development role.

Duties

- Lead the day-to-day operation of HPG's national contracting function
- Manage the end-to-end contractor lifecycle, from onboarding through to offboarding
- Provide expert advice on Modern Awards, labour hire compliance and temporary workforce solutions
- Support consultants with award interpretation, pricing, margins and contractor engagement
- Build proactive relationships with clients and contractors through regular phone and face-to-face contact
- Conduct onsite client and contractor visits, including WHS assessments and ongoing engagement
- Identify leads and commercial opportunities through day-to-day client and contractor interactions
- Drive continuous improvement across contracting systems, processes and compliance
- Partner with Directors and consultants to grow HPG's contracting and payroll solutions

Skills & Experience

- Bachelor's degree in any discipline (essential)
- Recruitment agency experience within temporary, contract or labour hire recruitment
- Strong knowledge of Up-to-date Awards, employment classifications and labour hire legislation
- Experience managing end-to-end contracting operations within an agency environment
- Strong commercial acumen, with confidence advising on pricing, margins and temporary workforce solutions
- A relationship-led approach, with the confidence to proactively engage clients and contractors by phone and face-to-face




- Commercial curiosity and the ability to recognise leads and opportunities through everyday conversations
- Strong operational mindset with a track record of improving systems and processes
- Exceptional communication, stakeholder management and influencing skills
- Strong analytical capability and confidence working with data and commercial information
- Advanced systems capability across recruitment CRM and contractor management platforms
