Your current role
As the Lead Microservices and AI Technical Architect, you will provide enterprise-level technical leadership across cloud-native platforms, microservices architecture and AI-enabled service delivery.Operating at an EL2-equivalent level, you will establish architectural direction, technical governance and engineering standards across multidisciplinary delivery teams. You will lead the design and evolution of secure, resilient and scalable enterprise platforms while driving the responsible adoption of AI across the software development lifecycle.Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading architecture and technical governance for cloud-native, microservices and AI-enabled platforms
- Designing scalable, resilient and secure microservices and event-driven architectures
- Driving the adoption of Generative AI and machine learning across the software development lifecycle
- Establishing and maturing DevSecOps, CI/CD, observability and automated testing practices
- Leading platform modernisation initiatives, including containerisation and enterprise integration
- Developing reusable architectural patterns, reference architectures and engineering standards
- Improving platform reliability, scalability, resilience, security and operational performance
- Embedding security-by-design and responsible AI principles
- Providing technical leadership and guidance to multidisciplinary and distributed delivery teams
- Influencing executives, technical stakeholders, vendors and delivery partners
- Supporting capability uplift, coaching and knowledge transfer across the organisation
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Extensive experience designing and governing cloud-native, microservices and event-driven architectures in large enterprise environments
- Strong experience delivering enterprise AI solutions, including Generative AI, machine learning, semantic search, RAG, LLM or AI platform implementations
- Demonstrated knowledge of AI operationalisation, governance and responsible AI frameworks
- A deep software engineering background encompassing DevSecOps, CI/CD, platform engineering, observability and automated testing
- Experience implementing security-by-design principles across complex technology environments
- A proven record of leading large-scale technology transformation and platform modernisation programs
- Strong experience across Azure, AWS or enterprise Kubernetes environments
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- The ability to influence senior executives, architects, engineers, delivery teams and external partners
- Demonstrated experience providing architectural governance and technical leadership across multiple delivery streams
