Nexon is seeking an experienced project finance specialist to partner with Project Managers and business leaders across its Advisory and Professional Services practices. The role will take end-to-end financial ownership of a high-volume portfolio of client projects, from project setup and revenue recognition through forecasting, margin management, billing and financial close-out.
This is a commercially focused business partnering role for someone who combines strong accounting capability with practical project-delivery fluency. The successful candidate will provide early insight into project performance, challenge assumptions, strengthen financial discipline and help mature Nexon's project-finance processes, controls and reporting.

Key Responsibilities
Project lifecycle and setup

- Review projects in Business Central including budgets, billing terms, rates, milestones and contract structures, using signed contracts and statements of work.
- Maintain project master data and ensure variations, extensions and scope changes are reflected promptly and accurately.
- Partner with Project Managers to establish delivery milestones, cost baselines and financial governance from project commencement.
- Manage project reconciliations, financial close-out and archiving on completion.

Revenue recognition and compliance

- Take responsibility for project revenue recognition in accordance with AASB 15 / IFRS 15 and Nexon policy.
- Prepare and review Estimates at Completion and cost-to-complete assessments with Project Managers, constructively challenging assumptions where required.

- Support month-end close for project profitability, WIP, accruals, provisions and related balance sheet reconciliations.
- Maintain clear supporting documentation and effective controls for project reviews, revenue recognition and financial reporting.

Forecasting, reporting and margin control

- Prepare monthly project and portfolio reporting covering revenue, cost, margin, cash flow and forecast-versus-actual performance, with transparent variance commentary.
- Business partner with Project Managers to determine project margins, reforecast costs, resources and completion outcomes and provide early warning where projects are trending off plan.
- Support consistent dashboards and reporting using Power BI or equivalent scorecard and dashboard tools to maintain portfolio-level view across a high-volume, fast-moving project environment and surface material risks, trends and exceptions.

Billing, WIP and cash flow

- Ensure project invoices are complete, accurate and aligned with contractual milestones and billing terms.
- Monitor WIP, unbilled revenue and aged debtors, and work with Project Managers and relevant teams to resolve billing blockers and disputes.

- Support business-unit and project cash-flow forecasting and promote timely conversion of project activity into billing and cash.

Business partnering and continuous improvement

- Act as the primary finance partner for assigned Project Managers and business leaders across Advisory and Professional Services.
- Provide commercially focused insight to support project decisions, accountability and corrective action.
- Develop, document and improve project-finance processes and controls and coach stakeholders on financial discipline and system use.

Experience and Knowledge

- CA/CPA qualification, or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
- Demonstrated project-finance or project-accounting experience ideally developed across IT services, technology consulting, engineering, infrastructure or construction environments.
- Experience managing project financials across the full lifecycle, including setup, revenue recognition, cost-to-complete forecasting, WIP, billing, margin and close-out.
- Strong working knowledge of AASB 15 / IFRS 15 and project revenue-recognition principles.
- Proven ability to work across a high-volume portfolio of projects with different sizes, stages and commercial models.
- Experience with ERP and project/time-recording systems. Business Central and ServiceNow experience is desirable.
- Power BI or equivalent dashboard and scorecard reporting experience is desirable, but not essential.
- Advanced Excel skills and confidence analysing large volumes of financial and operational data.
