A leading international banking institution is seeking an experienced Project Finance Credit Risk professional to join its Sydney-based credit team in a newly created growth role.

This position will play a key role in supporting the continued expansion of the bank's Australian project finance business and offers significant exposure to renewable energy and infrastructure transactions.

The Role

Working within a specialist Project Finance Credit team, you will take ownership of credit assessment, transaction execution support and ongoing portfolio monitoring across a range of complex financing opportunities.

The successful candidate will become a key subject matter expert within the project finance portfolio and work closely with stakeholders across Origination, Portfolio Management, Product, Ratings and regional approval teams.

Responsibilities

- Lead credit analysis of project finance transactions

- Review financing structures, key risks and mitigants

- Prepare and defend credit recommendations through approval processes

- Monitor and manage an existing portfolio of project finance exposures

- Identify emerging risks and recommend appropriate actions

- Support transaction execution across a high-volume deal environment





- Provide technical guidance across project finance credit matters

- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders locally, regionally and globally

About You

You will ideally bring:

- 10+ years' experience in banking credit risk

- Solid project finance credit experience

- Exposure to renewable energy and infrastructure transactions

- Experience within credit decisioning, approval or sanctioning processes

- Strong transaction structuring and risk assessment capability

- Excellent stakeholder management skills

- Ability to perform in a fast-paced transaction workplace

Highly Regarded

- Renewable energy financing experience

- Wind, solar, battery storage or energy transition exposure

- Institutional banking experience

- Australian project finance market knowledge

- Experience working within local or international banking organisations
