We are currently seeking a reliable and safety-focused Front End Loader Operator and Forklift Operator to join our team at our Alexandria paper recycling facility.
This is a excellent opportunity to secure long-term work with the potential to transition into a permanent position for the right candidate.
About the Role
This position plays a critical role in maintaining safe and productive site operations. You will initially work under supervision and, once assessed as competent, will be required to operate independently for part of the day.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage intake bay operations and coordinate truck movements for tipping
- Push and maintain material stockpiles
- Load materials into open-top semi-trailers
- Complete dockets and paperwork in line with Chain of Responsibility requirements (training provided)
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment
- Communicate professionally with drivers, staff, and site visitors
Work Environment
- Busy recycling transfer facility with constant truck movements
- Handling household recycling materials (yellow-lid bin waste)
- Physically active role including manual handling
- Regular climbing in and out of machinery
Hours & Conditions
- Training hours: 8:00am - 4:00pm
- Standard hours (once competent): 5:00am - 1:00pm
- Monday to Friday (occasional weekend work available)
- Must have UNRESTRICTED work rights
- Pay in line with Level 8 Operator - Waste Management Award
About You
You are dependable, safety-conscious, and take pride in your work.
Essential Requirements:
- Current Driver Licence
- Strong commitment to safety and site procedures
- Reliable, punctual, and able to meet early start times (non-negotiable)
- Physically fit and capable of manual tasks
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills for paperwork accuracy
- Must be local to the area
Preferred (but not essential):
- Front End Loader experience
- Forklift Licence
Attitude, reliability, and willingness to learn are more important than experience.
Pre-Employment Requirements
- Police check
- Fitness assessment
- Completion of site induction prior to interview/trial
