About the role
Bluegum Supervisors are responsible for working with and providing direct supervision to crew members (supported employees). This includes breaking down the duties into manageable tasks as appropriate for the individual crew member and their Individual Employment Plan. Bluegum is responsible for the provision of vocational support to people with a disability through the operation of a community-based workcrew. Bluegum promotes the involvement of people with disability in the community through employment.
Part Time Hours
We are currently needing someone for Monday and Friday, with the possibility of increasing days as time moves on. If you are unavailable for Fridays, we could discuss an alternative day with the right applicant.
Key responsibilities
- Work with and supervise crew members on a range of jobs including mowing, brushcutting, hedge trimming, and process work (such as box assembly, bagging of bark), ensuring they are carried out to the required safety and quality standards and timeframes
- Support the safety, care and well-being of team members, taking into account an individual's situation, including physical and emotional state
- Provide skilled liaison with Bluegum customers, including discussing job requirements and handling complaints in a timely and courteous manner
- Prepare Job Safety Assessments and any other paperwork pertinent to the job
- Ensure vehicles are maintained in accordance with the schedule and kept in a clean and tidy condition
- Notify the manager when resources or equipment require repair or replacement (including hazard reports)
- Support crew members to achieve their individual employment goals and to participate in the life of the Bluegum crew
- Participate in the preparation and implementation of individual employment plans (IEPs) including carrying out specific training
- Address team conflict promptly, following policies and not allowing conflict to continue
- Administer medication in accordance with the Medication Management Policy
About you
- Inductions to Specific Work Sites (Mandatory)
- Trade Certificates, including a White Card (Mandatory)
- Working alongside people with a disability (Mandatory)
- Behaviours that demonstrate alignment with the NOSS core values (Mandatory)
- Cert III Disability Support or equivalent level of training and experience (Preferred)
- Landscaping or grounds maintenance experience (Preferred)
- Broadacre Grounds Maintenance knowledge (Preferred)
- Small Engine Maintenance knowledge (Preferred)
