About the role

Jack Dedman Tiling Pty Ltd is seeking a motivated and skilled individual to join our team as a Wall & Floor Tiling Apprentice in Mildura, VIC. This is a full-time apprenticeship opportunity that will provide you with comprehensive training in the building trades, specifically in wall and floor tiling. As an apprentice, you will work alongside experienced tilers, developing practical skills whilst gaining nationally recognised qualifications. This role is fundamental to our business, as it allows us to build our skilled workforce whilst ensuring we continue to deliver high-quality tiling services to our clients.

What you'll be doing

- Preparing and setting out work areas, including measuring surfaces and marking guidelines for tile placement

- Preparing surfaces by cleaning, levelling and applying appropriate primers or adhesive bases

- Applying adhesive and laying tiles to walls and floors with precision and attention to detail

- Cutting and shaping tiles to fit around fixtures, corners and irregular spaces using appropriate tools

- Grouting tiles and cleaning excess grout to create professional finishes

- Following safety protocols and maintaining a clean, organised work environment

- Learning about different tile materials, adhesives and installation techniques from experienced supervisors

- Assisting with the installation of waterproofing membranes and other preparatory materials

- Contributing to project completion and client satisfaction through quality workmanship

What we're looking for

- A genuine interest in the building trades and a passion for developing practical skills in tiling

- Physical fitness and the ability to work on your feet for extended periods

- Attention to detail and a commitment to producing quality workmanship

- Reliability, punctuality and a strong work ethic

- The ability to follow instructions and work safely on construction sites

- Good communication skills and the capacity to work as part of a team

- A willingness to learn and complete formal training as part of your apprenticeship





- A valid driver's licence and own transport
