We are currently seeking experienced Diesel Fitters to join our team at Isaac Downs Mine, near Moranbah, Queensland, working on a range of large-scale mining equipment.
About the Role
As a Diesel Fitter with EPSA, you will be responsible for carrying out preventative maintenance, diagnostics, fault finding and repairs on heavy mining equipment while maintaining a solid focus on safety and reliability.
Key responsibilities include:
- Carrying out preventative maintenance, repairs and servicing on heavy mining equipment.
- Diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical faults and equipment issues.
- Working on Caterpillar, Liebherr & Komatsu machinery and other heavy mobile mining equipment.
- Completing required safety documentation, including job inspections, JSAs and SLAMs.
- Identifying and communicating safety, mechanical and maintenance issues.
- Completing all work to a high standard and within required timeframes.
- Working effectively as part of a team while also being able to work independently.
- Maintaining a strong commitment to health, safety and environmental standards.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Certificate III in Diesel Fitting Technology (Engineering) or equivalent recognised Australian trade qualification.
- Previous experience working in the mining industry, preferably within a heavy mobile equipment maintenance setting.
- Experience working with Caterpillar, Komatsu & Leibherr machinery or similar large-scale mining equipment.
- Strong diagnostic, fault-finding,
troubleshooting and preventative maintenance skills.
- A strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
- The ability to work effectively under pressure and within set timeframes.
- A proactive approach with the ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team.
- Current Australian Open Driver Licence.
- Current S11.
- QLD Coal Mine Workers' Health Scheme Assessment, or willingness to obtain.
- High Risk Work Licences such as EWP, Forklift, Overhead Gantry Crane, Non-Slew Crane, Vehicle Loading Crane, Dogging and/or Rigging will be highly regarded.
- Current nationally recognised certification in:
- Enter and Work in Confined Spaces
- Gas Test Atmospheres
- Work Safely at Heights
- Current First Aid Certificate.
- Willingness to undergo a pre-employment medical and random drug and alcohol screening.
