We are seeking a Building Trades Carpenter to join our Building Trades team and help maintain, repair and improve Council buildings and facilities across the region.

Reporting to the Team Leader Building Trades, you will undertake a range of carpentry, construction, programmed maintenance and repair works across Council assets. Working collaboratively with the Building Trades and Facilities and Leasing teams, you will also support the coordination and delivery of construction projects to ensure Council facilities remain safe, functional and well maintained.

Benefits

- $72,322 - $77,228 p.a. + super + allowances

- Full Time + Fortnightly RDO

- 5 Weeks Annual Leave + 3 Weeks Personal Leave

- PPE Provided

- Based in Innisfail and across the region

About the Role

- Deliver carpentry, building maintenance and repair works across Council assets.

- Ensure work meets building standards, the National Construction Code and legislative requirements.

- Provide high-quality workmanship that meets Council and community expectations.

- Complete works in a safe, efficient and timely manner.

- Maintain a strong focus on workplace and public safety.

- Provide professional and courteous service to internal and external customers.

Skills & Experience

- Certificate III in Carpentry.

- Current Queensland C Class Driver Licence.

- Construction White Card.

- Working at Heights and Asbestos Awareness certification.

- Strong planning, organisation and prioritisation skills.

- Ability to scope works and estimate labour and materials.
