About the role

Barung Landcare are offering traineeships in Conservation and Ecosystem Management Certificate 1. The traineeships are opportunities to learn conservation skills on the job while also getting a qualification and industry tickets. Traineeship is a paid 22-week course commencing Tuesday October 7.

Key responsibilities

- Native plant nursery work

- Environmental/bush regeneration and revegetation works in the field

- Appropriate handling, transportation and use of herbicides

- Supervised brush cutting, chainsaw and other small engine equipment activities and maintenance

About you

- Passion for conservation of our native setting

- Willingness and ability to work outdoors in all conditions

- Willingness to work responsibly with herbicides

- Capacity to get to work depots at Landsborough and Maleny

- Positive attitude, team skills and personal initiative

This training is proudly funded by the Queensland Government through its skilling Queenslanders for Work initiative that provides training to people who are under-utilised or under-employed in the labor market and aims to build employable skills
