The City of Kalamunda is a local authority with a population of 60,000 located approximately a 35 minute drive from the Perth CBD providing the opportunity to work in a varied planning environment, from rural natural bushland to highly developed residential, commercial and industrial areas.

About this Opportunity

Provide high-quality operational People & Culture support aligned with the City’s strategic objectives and organisational priorities. The People & Culture Officer delivers end to end recruitment services, employee lifecycle administration, HR systems support and first line advisory assistance. The role works collaboratively with leaders and employees to ensure people processes are consistent, compliant, efficient and people focused. This position contributes to organisational capability by supporting workforce initiatives, maintaining accurate records and strengthening employee experience across the organisation.

Key Accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

- Deliver end-to-end recruitment and onboarding in line with policy and legislation
- Provide first-line HR advice and support to leaders and employees
- Maintain and administer HR systems, databases and employee records
- Coordinate recruitment processes including advertising, interviews and reference checks
- Draft and update position descriptions and employment documentation
- Maintain compliance registers (WWCC, licence checks and related records)
- Manage the P&C; inbox and respond to general employment enquiries




- Support learning and development programs and training systems
- Contribute to People & Culture projects, policy updates and organisational improvement initiatives

The successful candidate will have the following:

- Possession of, or progress towards a relevant qualification and/or equivalent relevant experience in administration, customer service or Human Resources services.
- Relevant 3-5 years’ experience in human resources deliverables such as recruitment, inductions and administration work.
- Ability to maintain and foster positive communication throughout the organisation, and with external customers.
- A satisfactory National Police Certificate
- Applicants must have the right to work in Australia. In addition, applications requesting work sponsorship will not be considered.

Selection Criteria

1. Relevant experience in human resources deliverables such as recruitment, inductions and administration work.
2. Experience of working in a multi-functional administrative environment requiring strict deadlines.
3. Previous experience in using and maintaining a Human Resources Information System.
4. Sound problem-solving and research skills.

Hours of Work

This is a twelve (12) month fixed-term, full time position working Monday to Friday, 75 hours per fortnight,



with the possibility of ongoing employment subject to business needs and approval.

About the Benefits

This position offers a salary ranging $86,049.49 to $100,087.65 per annum (depending on the skills and experience of the successful applicant) plus superannuation.
