Heatleys Safety & Industrial

Perth

Are you a building-products sales hunter with experience in timber or concrete construction and the industry relationships to make an immediate impact in WA?

Heatleys is expanding its building-products offering and has created an exciting opportunity for an experienced Business Development Manager to establish new markets, win new customers and deliver significant sales growth.

This is a genuine new-business role for someone with direct sales experience across timber, concrete construction products or related building materials. You’ll understand the construction industry, know how to engage trade customers and have established relationships you can activate.

You’ll introduce a broader range of building products to Heatleys’ existing customers while opening completely new sales channels across residential construction, building and general trades.

This role suits someone energised by building a market—not simply servicing an established portfolio.

About Heatleys

Heatleys is a well-established WA supplier of tools, safety equipment, industrial products and trade solutions.

As part of Stealth Global Holdings, Heatleys combines strong local market knowledge and customer relationships with the product range, supplier partnerships and resources of a national group.

Based at our Canning Vale location, you’ll join a fast-paced and commercially focused business that values initiative, accountability and results.

The Opportunity

You will take ownership of developing the WA market for Heatleys’ expanding building-products range, with a particular focus on opportunities across timber, concrete construction and related building-material categories.

Working predominantly in the field, you’ll maintain a high level of customer activity.

You’ll identify prospective customers and upcoming projects, build a strong sales pipeline and convert opportunities into profitable, long-term accounts.

You will have the autonomy to develop your territory, supported by an established business, experienced internal teams, supplier partners and a growing product portfolio.

What You’ll Be Doing

- Hunt, identify and convert new business opportunities across WA
- Introduce Heatleys’ expanding building-products range to the market
- Develop opportunities across timber, concrete construction and related product categories

- Establish recent sales channels across residential construction, building and general trades

- Maintain a high level of field activity, including approximately 30–40 customer calls and visits each week
- Identify upcoming projects and engage prospective customers early
- Understand each customer’s requirements and recommend suitable product solutions
- Prepare and present proposals, pricing and commercial offers
- Negotiate profitable commercial outcomes and close new business
- Develop new accounts while identifying opportunities within Heatleys’ existing customer base
- Work closely with suppliers and internal sales, purchasing and operations teams
- Maintain accurate CRM activity, pipeline information and sales forecasts
- Monitor competitor activity, market trends and emerging opportunities
- Achieve agreed sales, margin and new-business targets

What You’ll Bring

Direct building-industry experience is essential for this position. To make an impact quickly, you will need:

- Proven B2B business development experience selling building or construction products
- Direct sales experience across timber, concrete construction products or closely related building materials
- Experience selling into residential construction, building or general trade channels
- Established relationships within the WA building and construction market

- Strong knowledge of builders, contractors and trade customers
- A hunter mentality and genuine enjoyment of new-business sales
- The energy and discipline to maintain a high level of customer-facing activity
- Strong prospecting, negotiation, influencing and closing skills
- The confidence to engage with business owners and senior decision-makers

- Commercial acumen and the ability to negotiate profitable outcomes
- Experience managing a structured sales pipeline and CRM
- Strong organisation, follow-up and attention to detail
- The ability to work autonomously while collaborating with the broader team
- A current driver’s licence

Existing relationships across the timber, concrete construction, residential building or trade sectors will be highly regarded.
