We are seeking an experienced Mine Geologist to join our Geology team at Sunrise Dam. This is an initial 12-month fixed-term position based on an 8/6 roster, with flights from Perth or Kalgoorlie, and the chance to transition into a permanent role based on performance.
Reporting to the Senior Mine Geologist, this role is responsible for all aspects of production activities, including grade control, data validation, liaising with contractors, and the inspection and monitoring of mining activities, ensuring short-term planning targets are achieved.
About the role
Adhering to all safety procedures, identifying hazards and reporting incidents, always working in a safe manner.Designing grade control drilling programs for short- and medium-term planning requirements.Scheduling and coordinating grade control drilling activities, ensuring that all activities maintain a high level of safety and sample QAQC.Geological mapping and interpretation.Validation and analysis of QAQC data relating to drilling, sampling and assaying.



Ensuring high-quality sampling and lab protocols are upheld.Interrogation of grade control models for mine reconciliations through mine block generation.Contribute to short- and medium-term mining schedules and co-ordination of material movement and crusher feed with the Mining Alliance partners.Assist in stockpile management, mine to mill and resource reconciliations.Liaising with external contractors on a daily and weekly basis.Deep understanding of blast movement technologies to assist the mining team with material movement.Contribute to the continuous improvement of the operation by constructively identifying opportunities and testing solutions.

Tertiary qualifications in GeologyPrior experience in open pit and/or underground mine geologyDemonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and teamworkA high degree of organisational and administrative skillsExcellent communication & people skillsStrong grasp of mining geology, including gold sampling and assaying, geological interpretation, grade modelling, and open cut mining methodsProficiency in Vulcan, Datashed, and MP3 estimation software, or equivalentCurrent manual Western Australian ‘C’ class driver’s licenceAustralian Permanent Residency or Citizenship (mandatory)A current National Police Clearance
