HSEQ Advisor
ABM Landscaping is a seeking an experienced, hands-on HSEQ Advisor, who is passionate about leading and instilling a safety-first culture. This role will join our team in delivering small, medium and large landscaping and civil projects across Western Australia.
The HSEQ Advisor will lead and support teams with a collaborative approach, bringing the businesses needs directly to senior management and provide feedback to ensure continual improvements of HSEQ deliverables.
Duties:
- Establishing and maintaining ISO-compliant environments across all HSEQ domains.
- Ensure site activities comply with industry, local, state, and federal guidelines and regulations.
- Identify and implement improvements to comply with current legislation and codes of practice
- Provide operational advice and mentoring on HSEQ obligations and duties.
- Update and manage IMS documents.
- Create and update safety procedures, risk assessments and SWMS’s.
- Ensure subcontractors are compliant with ABM Landscaping and Client safety requirements.
- Prepare and deliver HSEQ related staff communications such as toolbox talks, HSEQ bulletins.
- Conduct site safety audits.
- Assist in ensuring all transport CoR requirements are met.
- Ensure staff and equipment are correctly on boarded to client platforms forms and maintained for project duration.
- Investigate incidents and near misses to determine the root cause.
- Manage the company RTW with regards to workers compensation claims and return to work activities.
- Promoting a culture of continuous improvement by seeking opportunities to enhance work practices.
Essential Skills:
- Certification in WHS
- White Card (Minimum Mandatory Requirement)
- Proven experience working as an HSE Co-Ordinator, HSE Advisor, or similar role within the construction industry.
- Superior computer skills, particularly around MS Office suite and experience with digital site management platforms.
- Demonstrated solid leadership skills and ability to move between strategic and operational activities.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage clearly with field crews, supervisors, subcontractors, clients and other stakeholders across multiple worksites.
- Drivers licence and permanent Australian residency
- Excellent knowledge of WHS legislation, regulations and ISO45001, ISO9001, and ISO14001 standards with the ability to apply these requirements practically across landscaping, grounds maintenance and civil works environments.
- A systematic and process-driven approach with a demonstrated commitment to building a positive safety culture, encouraging worker engagement and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement across ABM Landscaping’s operations
