IBN serves as the Trustee for the Mining Area C (MAC) Agreement between BHP Billiton Pty Ltd and the IBN Claim Group, which includes the Yinhawangka, Banyjima and Nyiyaparli people of the Pilbara. Established in 2001, IBN is a charitable business operated for the advancement and prosperity of these communities. We provide programs and services to raise the personal, social and economic wellbeing of our members and deliver support and programs in health, education, housing, culture, enterprise development and employment. IBN’s offices are located in South Hedland, Perth, Tom Price and Karratha.

The Opportunity

An prospect has become available for an experienced Payroll Officer to join our team for a part-time, 12-month contract to cover maternity leave.

Using Employment Hero, coordinate end-to-end payroll processing and reporting. This role works closely with the People and Safety team and receives instruction on the application of appropriate industrial legislation, award interpretation and regulatory compliance.

The Role

- Manage end-to-end payroll processes.

- Manage employee payroll onboarding, time and attendance, leave accruals, and superannuation.

- Generate reports and prepare end-of-period payroll for banking.

- Administer and reconcile monthly payroll lodgement activities e.g. as payroll tax, SGC, child support payments.

- Collaborate with key stakeholders on payroll-related matters resolving all payroll inquiries and discrepancies.

- Contribute to month-end and ad hoc reporting requirements.

The Requirements

Essential

- At least 3+ years’ experience in a similar role.

- Experience with Employment Hero.

- Proven experience in payroll processing.

- Strong understanding of payroll tax laws and regulations.

- Strong problem-solving skills and analytical abilities.





- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to maintain confidentiality.

- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills to develop and maintain relationships for the successful delivery of the payroll function.

- An ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people.

Desirable

- Experience in Netsuite highly regarded.

- Experience working with Aboriginal people, Aboriginal Corporations and an understanding of Australian culture would be highly regarded.

Qualifications

- Certificate IV or above in Accounting, Finance or a related field highly regarded
