Clinical Trial Nurse (Casual)

About the Opportunity
We are seeking experienced and patient-focused Registered Nurses to support two creative clinical trial programs being delivered in the Newcastle area. These studies aim to advance treatments for serious health conditions through the collection of high-quality clinical data and participant care in community and home-based settings.
The programs are focused on evaluating investigational treatments designed to prevent or delay the progression of dominantly inherited Alzheimer's disease in individuals at risk. Study medication is administered in the participant's home, with ongoing monitoring conducted through clinical assessments and blood collection.
As a Clinical Trial Nurse, you will play a critical role in ensuring study participants receive exceptional care while supporting the successful delivery of clinical trial protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct participant visits in accordance with study protocols
- Perform venepuncture and blood sample collection
- Insert and manage Peripheral Intravenous Cannulas (PIVC)
- Monitor participant wellbeing and identify/report adverse events
- Complete accurate documentation and electronic data entry
- Support administration of investigational products and study procedures
- Maintain compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and study requirements
- Utilise IT devices, electronic systems, and digital platforms to record and upload study data
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Demonstrated experience with venepuncture and PIVC insertion
- Strong clinical assessment and patient monitoring skills
- Confidence working independently in community, home-care, or outreach environments
- Excellent communication and participant engagement skills
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
- High level of IT literacy, including experience using tablets, mobile applications, and electronic medical records
- Current driver's licence and willingness to travel as required
- Previous clinical research or clinical trials experience highly regarded but not essential
