About the role

We’re looking for a motivated and energetic Junior Office Assistant to join a growing mortgage broking business based in Ormeau.

This is a great opportunity for someone who is early in their career and wants more than just an administration role. You’ll join a small, supportive and family-focused team, learn the mortgage broking industry from the ground up and have the prospect to develop into a Mortgage Broker over time.

You don’t need previous experience in mortgages or finance. We’re much more interested in your personality, communication skills, confidence and willingness to learn.

The office is based in Ormeau, Queensland.

Salary: Up to $60,000 + super, depending on experience.

What you’ll be doing

This is a varied role where no two days will look exactly the same. You’ll be involved in:

- Providing general administration and office support

- Answering phones and communicating with clients

- Data entry and keeping client information and systems up to date

- Following up leads and helping generate appointments

- Supporting the mortgage broker with day-to-day client management





- Creating and posting social media content across TikTok, Instagram and other platforms

- Learning the mortgage broking process and developing your knowledge of the industry

- Building your confidence in client communication, sales and lead generation

What we’re looking for

We’re open to candidates from a range of backgrounds. You may have experience in administration, retail, hospitality, customer service, sales or another people-focused setting.

- Has strong communication and interpersonal skills

- Brings energy and personality to the workplace

- Is resilient and able to remain calm when dealing with challenging situations

- Is organised and willing to take ownership of tasks

- Is comfortable learning new systems and technology

- Has an interest in social media and creating content

- Is keen to build a genuine career rather than simply looking for their next job

- Wants to learn, develop and eventually progress into mortgage broking

You’ll also need to be comfortable dealing with a mature client base and having professional conversations with clients who may be stressed or under pressure. The ability to confidently manage a conversation and build trust will be important.
