Sales Consultant - Premium Motorhomes
Location: Interstate Head Office, 65 Camfield Drive, Heatherbrae NSW 2324
Reports to: Sales Manager
Buying a motorhome is a big decision. Your job will be to listen, answer questions honestly and help each customer decide what suits the way they want to travel.
Interstate manufactures premium motorhomes in Australia, including the Interstate One and Interstate Mini. We are looking for a Sales Consultant who takes the time to understand each customer, explains the options in plain language and follows through without putting people under pressure.
This role is about valuable conversations and dependable follow-up. Customers should not have to chase for answers, and the rest of the team should be able to open Pipedrive and see what has happened and what comes next.
Sales Commission
In addition to a base salary, you will earn uncapped $1,000 per motorhome sale bonus.
We supply qualified leads each day, with an expectation of approx. 10 sales per month per sales person.
The Role
From the moment an enquiry is assigned to you, you will look after the customer through their early questions, showroom visit, quote and follow-up. If they decide to buy, you will make sure the next person has the details they need for a smooth handover.
You will keep Pipedrive up to date and work from approved information about our products, pricing, finance, warranty and delivery. We do not expect you to guess. If you are unsure, check with the right person and get back to the customer.
What You Will Do
- Get back to new enquiries promptly by phone, email, SMS or another approved channel.
- Learn how each customer plans to travel, what matters to them, when they hope to buy and what concerns they have before recommending a model or next step.
- Explain our motorhomes accurately and in a way that relates to the customer's needs.
- Book and run showroom appointments, vehicle viewings, test drives and other approved next steps.
- Stay in touch during what can be a long buying process, without inventing deadlines or pushing for a quick decision.
- Record the key details in Pipedrive, including the customer's needs, model interest, questions, concerns, timeframe and next action.
- Keep each opportunity at the right pipeline stage. Raise stalled, blocked or risky opportunities early rather than letting them drift.
- Prepare quotes and share only current, approved customer information.
- Work closely with sales, production, delivery and customer support when a customer moves from one part of the business to another.
- Take part in sales meetings, product training and coaching, and use what you hear from customers to improve your approach.
Doing the Job Well
- Customers feel heard and finish each conversation knowing what will happen next.
- Follow-up happens when promised and is recorded in Pipedrive.
- Anyone reviewing an active opportunity can understand the customer, the current stage and the next action.
- Product information is accurate and relevant to what the customer has told you.
- Concerns are handled calmly, and unanswered questions are followed up rather than brushed aside.
- The next team member can pick up a handover without asking the customer to repeat everything.
- You pursue sales confidently, but you do not talk a customer into a product that is wrong for them.
## What We Are Looking For
- A strong sales record with products or services that customers take time to consider.
- The ability to listen well, ask useful questions and understand what is behind a customer's decision.
- Clear, professional communication in person, on the phone and in writing.
- Good CRM habits and the organisation to manage several customers at different stages of a longer sales process.
- An interest in learning the details of our motorhomes and the ability to explain them simply.
- Good commercial judgement and the confidence to sell without resorting to pressure.
- Reliable follow-through, useful records and a willingness to learn from feedback.
- Experience with Pipedrive or a similar CRM, along with Google Workspace.
Experience in automotive, caravan, RV, marine, property, finance, a dealership or another high-value sales environment would be useful. Motorhome experience is welcome, but we are more interested in how well you listen, follow up and keep track of the details.
Why Work at Interstate
Our customers are choosing more than a vehicle. They are working out how they want to travel, what will make life on the road comfortable and which trade-offs make sense for them.
You will sell a locally manufactured product that customers can see up close, and you will work with the people involved in production, delivery and support. It is a positive fit for someone who enjoys learning a detailed product, earning trust over time and helping people make a considered decision.
