About the role

Reporting to the Senior Governance Officer, you will coordinate and administer a range of governance activities that support Council’s decision-making processes. You will be responsible for preparing agendas and minutes, maintaining statutory registers, providing governance advice to internal stakeholders, and contributing to governance projects and process improvements.

Key accountabilities include, but are not limited to;

- Coordinating, compiling and distributing accurate notice papers, agendas and minutes for Audit Committee meetings and other meetings as assigned in a timely manner
- Attending Committee meetings and other meetings as assigned, providing accurate minute taking and governance support
- Providing advice and guidance to staff on report preparation, meeting procedures and governance requirements
- Maintaining statutory registers and governance records
- Leading and contributing to governance projects and continuous improvement initiatives
- Delivering high-quality customer service to internal and external stakeholders

The City is seeking an experienced and motivated person to join our Governance team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting Council and Committee meetings, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements and contributing to continuous improvement across governance practices.

The successful candidate will have the following:

- Tertiary qualification in related discipline or substantial experience in a governance role
- Sound knowledge of formal meeting procedures, agenda preparation and minute taking
- Experience interpreting legislation and applying governance principles in a practical environment




- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and tight deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a politically sensitive and confidential environment
- A satisfactory National Police Certificate is required

The salary for this position will be from $87,442.94 to $103,792.55 per annum, depending on the skills and experience of the successful applicant.
