FAMILY SERVICES COORDINATOR

About the Role
Reporting to the Executive Manager Community Services, the Family Services Coordinator provides operational leadership, practice oversight and program coordination across RAATSIC's family support and early intervention services. You will lead a multidisciplinary team, oversee program delivery, drive continuous improvement initiatives and ensure services are responsive, culturally safe and aligned with organisational and funding requirements.
Working closely with internal stakeholders, community partners and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, you will play a key leadership role in strengthening service quality, workforce capability and positive outcomes for children, young people and families.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate the day-to-day delivery of family support, early intervention and community services programs.
- Provide leadership, supervision, mentoring and performance support to program staff.
- Ensure programs are delivered in accordance with funding agreements, organisational policies, legislation and best practice standards.
- Monitor service outcomes, program performance and key performance indicators, implementing improvements where required.
- Provide practice oversight and guidance in relation to complex family support and child wellbeing matters.
- Develop and maintain strong partnerships with government agencies, community organisations and key stakeholders.
- Support workforce development through coaching, reflective practice, training and capability-building initiatives.
- Contribute to strategic planning, service development and organisational improvement activities.
- Prepare reports, program updates and funding acquittals as required.
- Engage respectfully with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and Elders to ensure services remain culturally informed and community-led.
About You
- Undergraduate qualification in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, Community Development or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated leadership experience within family support, child and family services, community services or a related sector.
- Strong knowledge of child wellbeing, family support and early intervention practice frameworks.
- Experience leading teams, managing program delivery and driving service improvement initiatives.
- Sound understanding of trauma-informed, strengths-based and culturally safe practices.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and partnership development skills.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving and organisational skills.
- Ability to analyse program performance, manage priorities and achieve service outcomes.
- Current C Class Queensland Driver Licence and willingness to obtain a Working with Children Check (Blue Card).
- Experience working within an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander community-controlled organisation will be highly regarded.
