Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) Capability Analyst to support a major Defence capability acquisition project.
Working on behalf of the Capability Sponsor, the successful candidate will provide specialist ILS expertise across capability development, acquisition planning and transition-into-service activities. The role will support the Capability Sponsor in ensuring supportability, sustainment, training, workforce, facilities, supply and maintenance requirements are fully integrated into the capability solution and reflected throughout the Capability Document Suite.
The successful applicant will contribute to the development and review of key Defence capability artefacts including Integrated Logistics Support Concepts, Operational Concept Documents, Requirements and Acquisition Agreements (RAA), Materiel Sustainment Agreements (MSA), Business Cases, Project Execution Strategies, Integrated Project Management Plans and sustainment planning documentation.
This role is pivotal in ensuring capability support considerations are addressed early, enabling the successful transition of capability into service and through-life sustainment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) analysis and planning activities across Defence capability lifecycle phases.
- Develop and review sustainment, maintenance, logistics and supportability documentation (including Integrated Logistics Support Concepts).
- Support identification and management of Fundamental Inputs to Capability (FIC), particularly:
- Personnel
- Training
- Facilities
- Supplies
- Support
- Data
- Industry considerations.
- Contribute to development and review of:
- Requirements and Acquisition Agreements (RAA)
- Materiel Sustainment Agreements (MSA)
- Operational Concept Documents (OCD)
- Business Cases
- Test and Evaluation documentation
- Workforce Realisation Plans (WRP)
- Integrated Risk Assessments (IRA).
- Support development of sustainment concepts, maintenance strategies and transition-to-service planning.
- Participate in stakeholder engagement activities across Capability Sponsors, Capability Operators, Delivery Agencies and Industry partners.
- Support preparation for Gate reviews and Government approval activities.
- Assist with development of Product Management and sustainment documentation required for transition to in-service support.
- Review contractor and industry deliverables to ensure alignment with Defence sustainment requirements and approved capability baselines.
Essential Requirements
- Demonstrated experience delivering Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) activities within Defence capability acquisition, sustainment or major projects.
- Strong understanding of Defence capability lifecycle processes and governance.
- Experience developing or reviewing Defence sustainment and supportability artefacts.
- Knowledge of maintenance management, supply support, training systems, technical data and support system development.
- Experience working within CASG, Defence Delivery Agency, SPOs or equivalent Defence acquisition and sustainment environments.
- Demonstrated capability to engage effectively with Defence stakeholders,
industry partners and integrated project teams.
- Strong written communication skills and experience developing Defence documentation suitable for senior decision-makers.
- Minimum NV1 Security Clearance.
Desirable Experience
- Experience working within the Defence Capability System (DCS) or former One Defence Capability System (ODCS).
- Knowledge of Product Management, Materiel Sustainment Agreements (MSA) and sustainment governance.
- Experience supporting Gate 0, Gate 1, Gate 2, First Pass, Second Pass or Combined Pass activities.
- Familiarity with Integrated Logistics Support standards and methodologies.
- Understanding of Defence engineering, systems engineering or reliability and maintainability analysis.
- Experience supporting transition-to-service and Initial Operating Capability (IOC) or Final Operating Capability (FOC) activities.
- Experience with Foreign Military Sales (FMS) programs or complex Defence procurements
Additional Information

They will be comfortable working within a complex stakeholder setting and contributing to multidisciplinary teams operating across capability development, acquisition and sustainment activities.
