Cairns Regional Council is building a pool of casual construction and road labourers to support our crews across the Cairns region. This is a great opportunity to pick up work on Council projects, cover leave and help out when our teams need extra hands.

You’ll be engaged to:

Support road construction and maintenance projects

️ Provide extra hands on civil and infrastructure projects

Cover planned and unexpected staff leave

️ Support busy crews when workloads increase

Assist with general construction, maintenance and labouring activities

We want people who are:

- Reliable and ready to get stuck in

- Comfortable working outdoors in a physical role

- Experienced in construction, civil works, roadworks or general labouring





You will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which include a National Police / Criminal History Check and a pre-employment medical, which will include a functional capacity assessment and drug and alcohol test.
