With a strong pipeline of new work across Perth and regional Western Australia, we are seeking an experienced Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) Operator to join our growing project teams. Working on critical pipeline and infrastructure projects, you'll play a key role in safely delivering quality tunnelling outcomes while working alongside some of the industry's most experienced trenchless professionals.

The opportunity

This is a hands-on operational role suited to a skilled micro-tunnelling professional who thrives in a project environment and enjoys the challenge of delivering precise, high-quality underground construction works.

Working across projects north and south of the river, you'll be responsible for operating and supporting TBM activities, coordinating tunnelling operations and ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.

You'll contribute to both the successful operation of tunnelling equipment and the leadership of site crews, helping maintain a strong culture of safety, teamwork and operational excellence.

What you'll be doing

As a key member of our trenchless construction team, you'll:





- Operate and monitor micro-tunnel boring machines during project delivery.

- Support the setup, commissioning and operation of TBM equipment within launch shafts.

- Coordinate daily tunnelling activities and provide guidance to site crews.

- Work collaboratively with supervisors, engineers and project teams to achieve production targets.

- Maintain a solid focus on safety, quality, environmental compliance and productivity.

- Assist in identifying and resolving operational issues to minimise downtime and maximise project performance.

- Contribute to a positive team culture and uphold Rob Carr's commitment to operational excellence.

What you'll bring

We're looking for a practical and experienced operator who can lead from the front and work effectively within a high-performing project team.

To be successful, you'll have:

- Demonstrated experience operating micro-tunnel boring machines.

- Experience setting up and commissioning tunnelling equipment in launch shafts.

- Previous experience coordinating or leading tunnelling crews.

- A strong commitment to safety, quality and environmental standards.

- A reliable and professional approach with excellent teamwork skills.

- The flexibility to work across multiple project locations when required.

- Construction Industry White Card.

Experience with Iseki TBM systems will be highly regarded,



while experience with Herrenknecht TBMs will also be advantageous. Experience in pipeline construction, trenchless works or civil plant operation will be viewed favourably.

Desirable qualifications

While not essential, the following tickets and experience will be highly regarded:

- Working at Heights.

- Confined Space Entry.

- Civil construction or pipeline installation experience.

- Additional plant operating competencies.

Training can be provided for suitable candidates looking to further develop their skills and qualifications.
