About the role

The Children's Activity Worker is responsible for providing care and developmental activities for preschool-aged children (0-6 years) whose parents are attending group sessions facilitated by the service. The position involves direct interaction with children, organising and facilitating in office activities that support their developmental needs while their parents or carers participate in the group sessions.

Key responsibilities

- Unpack and set up equipment for children.

- Prepare and organise materials such as paint, glue, and other recreational equipment.

- Provide activities for the children that assist in their physical, emotional, and social development.

- Model ways of being that are consistent with the philosophy of the service.

- Perform any other tasks necessary for the care and well-being of children attending the activity.

- Contribute to the preparation of developmental programs for children as required.

- Escalate any incidents or concerns regarding child protection to the Team Leader.

- Take all precautions to ensure the safety and well-being of children during activities.

- Put away play equipment at the end of the session and leave the area clean and tidy.





- Report all incidents and hazards in accordance with company policies and procedures.

About you

- Experience working with vulnerable children and families

- Current Working with Children Check (WWCC)

- Current Influenza and Covid – 19 vaccinations

- Current National Criminal History Check

- Certificate III in Childcare or other relevant qualifications

- Experience in the human services sector

- Previous experience working in childcare

- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a variety of environments both autonomously and in a group setting.

- Communicate effectively in a constructive and harmonious manner with Management, other employees, clients and other stakeholders.

- Work constructively with team members, ensuring accurate handovers of tasks are undertaken.
