Beauty and the Bees

Beauty and the Bees is an established, highly respected, innovative Tasmanian natural hair and skincare company making products by hand from nutrient-rich Tasmanian fruits, berries, seaweed, hops, olive oil, honey and herbs, all from local apiaries, beaches, dairies, forests and farms, as well as rare ingredients like Leatherwood Honey and Beeswax found only in Tasmania. Beauty and the Bees products are sold through a dedicated retail outlet in Hobart, Salamanca Market and mail order business.

Role Purpose

Reporting to the Production Manager, the Production Assistant is responsible for supporting our day to day manufacturing processes, ensuring that Beauty and the Bees has efficient production operations and can meet our production targets.

Working in a small team, the Production Assistant uses a high level of attention to detail and good problem-solving skills to ensure a smooth production workflow in a safe and hygienic work environment.

Key Areas of Accountability

Production

· Assist in setting up production equipment and machinery.

· Preparing soap and shampoo moulds

· Cutting soap and shampoo products

· Making products – following recipes, weighing ingredients, mixing, cooking

· Restocking ingredients





· Packaging products

· Inventory management

Cleaning

- Regularly clean all surfaces
- Take out trash, recycling and other waste items

Team Culture

- Ensure effective and constructive communication and relationships exist with all team members.
- Provide accurate and timely information as required.
- Adopt a positive, solutions focused attitude to all tasks

Health and Safety

· Act in a safe manner always, including complying with all safety instructions and training given at the workplace

Person Specification

Essential knowledge or experience

· Working in Australia visa rights

· Factory manufacturing production or laboratory experience

· Interest in the production of natural skin care.

· Physically fit – able to lift 25kgs

· Able to work in varying temperatures

· Attention to detail

· Willing to admit mistakes

· Able to work independently and as part of a team

· Able to seek out assistance when required.
