Position Description

Position Title: Store Supervisor Restaurant Manager

Position Code: Reports to: Business Consultant / Franchise Partner Reports to Code: Brand: Oporto Department: Store Operations Purpose: The purpose of this role is to effectively manage the store by achieving restaurant sales and profitability targets, promoting high levels of customer service and compliance as well as managing and motivating the store team. Direct Reports: Assistant Managers, Shift Supervisors, Spice Masters and Team Members. Key Tasks and Responsibilities: People & Leadership Provide leadership and coaching to the team, determining work requirements and priorities, assigning tasks to maximise Restaurant performance. Monitor performance of shifts run by Assistant Managers and Shift Supervisors. Ensure sufficient staffing levels for service, including recruitment, weekly rosters to set labour targets and effective succession planning. Identify and develop key talent within the restaurant, ensuring a solid succession pipeline from Team Member to Restaurant Manager per the company Learning Pathways. Develop and implement a recruitment plan to ensure sufficient numbers of appropriately trained team members to maintain the succession pipeline and cost requirements of the store. Manage employee performance in line with company procedures; including reward, counselling and performance appraisals/management. Ensure compliance with and integrity of, all employment conditions including, Enterprise Agreement, leave management, payroll, terminations and contracts of employment. Train and coach Assistant Managers, Shift Supervisors and Spice Masters for the release of new products and equipment, utilising training programs, materials and assessments, inductions and skill checks and final sign offs as required. Ensure all team members at all levels are inducted and trained in accordance with the Company Safety Policy to ensure a safe and secure environment for all employees, customers, visitors and contractors. Follow all Training Pathways for AM, SS, Spice Master and Team Member and measure the completion rates to ensure all Team Members training is 100% complete and signed off, and that all team members are trained to be multi-skilled within the first 6 months of employment (to improve Team Member productivity on shift). Handle employee and parent complaints in an effective and timely manner, seeking guidance when required. Ensure all AM and SS attend required certificate and company run training programs and events when required and as outlined in their relevant Learning Pathway. Shift Management Maintain and control the production of food preparation and cooking for the duration of the shift including the flow line and heat chute. Implement promotions in accordance with guidelines issued. Store Manager PD – Oporto – June 2017 Guarantee 100% product availability by accurately placing and controlling the ordering of stock,



ensuring adequate supply of all ingredients with minimal waste. Ensure all areas of the Restaurant are presented in accordance with the company’s policy and procedures. Perform opening and closing and all other daily routines in accordance with policy and procedures, restaurant checklists (e.g QSC Booklet) and trading hours. Oversee the ordering, receiving and storage of all stock in line with company policies and procedures, ensure minimal wastage and inter restaurant transfers. Ensure Menu Boards, and all visual display / point of sale materials and stock presentation are in accordance with national layouts and guidelines. Ensure all administration is correctly carried out as per policy and procedures, using and completing all reports required during each shift, the storing of stock, food handling, operating POS, cash handling, banking procedures and rostering of team. Ensure cash handling policies and procedures are followed. Maintenance of store equipment is within the company’s policies and procedures. Oversee all Food Safety practices in restaurant and their compliance to company policy. Sales & Profitability: Maximise gross profit by minimising waste, ensuring waste is recorded, perform stock takes weekly and ensure all discounts are given within policy and procedures guidelines. Ensure trading profit budgets are met by analysing period trading reports and identifying and implementing opportunities for improvement in restaurant profitability within the scope of company policies and procedures. Manage remuneration (REM) costs by maximising restaurant productivity, average hourly rate and provide REM projections in accordance with guidelines. Manage expenses to budget without comprising restaurant standards. Ensure all team members actively “suggestive sell” to all customers. Understand and interpret P&L; statements and take appropriate actions in liaison with Business Consultant. Ensure complete understanding of all restaurant systems and processes to maximise results. Conduct weekly meetings with Managers to detail results and implement action plans to achieve results. Review and analyse business results to be able to communicate them to relevant stakeholders as needed. Customer Service Providing efficient and friendly service to all customers, visitors and contractors. Handling and resolving customer complaints with the aim of achieving 100% customer satisfaction. Identifying areas within restaurant that are not in accordance with the company’s customer service policy/guidelines and procedures and taking corrective action.



Ensure all Managers and team members understand and promote Flame Rewards membership at all times. Channel Strategy Implement a 12 month plan of catering events (with projected numbers) for your store to drive, promote and engage local community groups and businesses in accordance with company guidelines and procedures. Catering to be analysed and implement an improvement action plan as / when required. Safety Ensure all company safety procedures are adhered to and any breaches are dealt with in accordance with the Company’s policy. Attend and complete any training or meeting designed to further the awareness of safety. Ensure safe work procedures are implemented and carried out with regular inspections of the restaurant. Complete Safety Audits and resolve any issues in a timely manner. Work with Franchise Partner and Business Consultant to ensure all improvement notices/council Store Manager PD – Oporto – June 2017 warnings/SSV & compliance review actions are implemented in a timely and efficient manner. Ensure all near misses, hazards, trips and falls are identified and documented in accordance with company guidelines online. Ensure Food Safety Guidelines specific to the State/Territory are communicated and adhered to. Person Specification: Personal qualities: Willingness to model the corporate values of Craveable Brands and foster these values in others. Thorough understanding and knowledge of the management of fast food restaurants. Solid communication skills both written and verbal to facilitate liaising and managing all levels of stakeholders. Adaptability of management and leadership styles, an active listener with excellent conflict resolution, negotiation and influencing skills. Self-motivated and well-organised, responding to requests and directives in a timely manner. Enthusiastic and positive attitude, pro-active and able to work under pressure whilst maintaining a high level of professionalism Demonstrated maturity, respect and flexibility in communicating with the store management team. High solution based outlook when dealing with business and operational issues. Ability to take direction/guidance/coaching when provided. Willingness and enthusiasm to learn new skills. Highly reliable and dependable. Ability to set goals and hold people accountable for their delivery. Demonstrates logical problem solving techniques and prioritisation of tasks. Qualifications and Education Requirements: Demonstrated management experience working in the retail, hospitality or fast food industry. Proven track record and success in a similar role. (Internal) Competence must be achieved to the relevant Learning Pathway level for Oporto, all Surfboard training 100% and all sign offs complete. A valid 1st Aid Certificate (within 3 years of issue date) and current Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (within 5 years of issue date) which is in line with company standards.
