About the Role
Reporting to the Clinical Lead, this position will deliver evidenced based interventions to young people accessing Youth Focus services. The incumbent will provide supervision, mentoring and guidance to staff as required. The key responsibilities include:
- Provide office-based, outreach, and/or telehealth individual or group interventions to young people accessing services.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with schools to facilitate access to psychological services to young people within a school setting
- Coordinate case management and evidence-based therapeutic mental health care based on individual needs of young people
- Conduct initial assessment of referrals to determine appropriate care pathways, severity of risk, and complexity of need
- Develop and implement risk management plans which support young people to manage factors impacting on identified risk of harm
- With support from the Clinical Lead, facilitate internal training and knowledge sharing sessions for staff, contractors and co-locators in consultation with the Leadership Team
Selection Criteria
To be considered for this position, applicants will have:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications with current full membership or registration (AHPRA or AASW)
- Experience working with young people (and their families) who have experienced a complex mental health concern, in both a case management and therapeutic role
- Demonstrated ability to provide high quality assessment and evidence-based psychological interventions, within a stress-vulnerability and recovery framework for young people
- Demonstrated experience in clinical practice within the mental health field, ideally with young people experiencing mental health disorders
- Ability to be self-motivated and function independently while being able to effectively work in a multidisciplinary team
- Post graduate qualifications in an area related to youth mental health (desirable)
- 'C' Class Driver's Licence and capacity to travel for work when needed
- Capacity to work evenings (until 7pm Mondays/Thursdays)
