The Dunes Ocean Grove is looking for our next Assistant Restaurant Manager to lead one of the Bellarine Peninsula's busiest and most loved waterfront venues.

This role is suited to either an experienced Assistant Restaurant Manager or a high-performing Restaurant Supervisor ready to take the next step. This is a big role, leading a team of up to 50 staff during peak periods, so we're looking for someone who is comfortable in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and genuinely enjoys leading from the front.

Set right on the water at Ocean Grove Main Beach, The Dunes is a local favourite and a destination for visitors year-round. We operate lunch and dinner daily from 12pm, with breakfast on weekends, alongside a high-volume takeaway kiosk operating from 6:30 am.

The role

As Assistant Manager, you’ll play a key role in the day-to-day running of the venue, supporting the Restaurant Manager and senior leadership team to deliver exceptional service, strong team performance, and an outstanding guest experience.

You’ll lead by example on the floor, helping to drive service standards, motivate and develop the team, and ensure every shift runs smoothly and efficiently. You’ll be confident making decisions, solving problems on the spot, and stepping up to take ownership when required.

About you

- Proven experience as an Assistant Manager or Senior Supervisor in a high-volume venue

- Confident leading and developing large, diverse teams (up to 50 staff in peak season)

- Strong understanding of FOH operations, labour control, and key financial KPIs

- Basic computer skills and confidence using workplace systems and technology

- High standards, attention to detail, and a strong sense of ownership

- Clear communicator with the ability to lead calmly under pressure

- A genuine passion for hospitality, food, and guest experience

- Organised, proactive, and comfortable managing a busy service environment
