Demand & Supply Planner – Spare Parts Job Category: Supply Chain
Salary: $75K–$80K + incentive
Location: Macquarie Park, NSW
Work Arrangement: Hybrid – 3 days in the office, 2 days from home
The Opportunity Are you an analytical and organised Supply Chain professional who enjoys turning data into effective planning decisions?
We are seeking a Demand & Supply Planner – Spare Parts to join our Supply Chain team at our NSW Head Office in Macquarie Park.
This is an exciting prospect to take ownership of the demand planning, forecasting and supply planning of spare parts within a large global technology organisation. You will play an important role in ensuring the right parts are available at the right time to support our customers and service operations, while maintaining inventory within budget.
Working closely with internal stakeholders, suppliers and logistics partners, you will review demand and supply requirements, identify potential risks and opportunities, and translate planning insights into effective purchasing and inventory decisions.
Key Responsibilities Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end spare parts planning process, including:
- Develop and maintain demand forecasts for spare parts using historical demand, business requirements and relevant market or operational insights.
- Review demand and supply requirements to identify gaps, risks, excess inventory and potential shortages.
- Develop and execute supply plans to ensure spare parts availability meets service level requirements while remaining within budget.
- Manage the end-to-end spare parts purchasing process, including forecasting, purchase order placement, order management and supplier follow-up.
- Monitor inventory performance and optimise stock levels to balance availability, working capital and service requirements.
- Identify and manage excess, slow-moving and obsolete inventory, working with stakeholders to develop appropriate actions.
- Maintain accurate item master data, inventory parameters, inventory records and inbound shipment schedules.
- Monitor supplier and inbound delivery performance and proactively address potential supply constraints or delays.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, suppliers and logistics partners to resolve demand, supply and inventory issues.
- Provide regular analysis and reporting on demand, supply, inventory and service performance.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and contribute to process standardisation across the Supply Chain function.
About You You will be a commercially minded and analytical planner who enjoys working with data and collaborating with stakeholders to solve supply chain challenges.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- 3–5 years' experience in a similar inventory planning, demand planning, supply planning or supply chain role.
- Previous experience across inventory planning, demand forecasting, purchasing or supply chain operations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and turn insights into practical actions.
- A sound understanding of inventory management, demand and supply planning and broader supply chain principles.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong negotiation, influencing and relationship-building skills.
- A customer-focused mindset and the ability to build effective relationships across multiple areas of the business.
- The ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
