About the role

The Radionuclide Imaging & Therapy Physician will be involved in reporting PET/CT scans from an ultra-extended field of-view scanner, the Siemens Biograph Vision Quadra, that is changing molecular imaging practice. The Physician will work as a part of a highly experienced multidisciplinary team to provide effective person-centred diagnosis. They will also be involved in theranostic trials.

Key responsibilities

- Prescribe, supervise and interpret PET/CT and nuclear medicine studies, providing accurate and timely reports adhering to established protocols

- Take relevant history from patients and perform examinations when required for correlation with scan findings

- Obtain informed consents for clinical trials

- Serve as a point of contact for technologists, nurses, receptionists, and other physicians both within and beyond the service

- Be available to address any clinical needs that arise within the department

- Assist in the administration of Radionuclide Therapies

- Communicate critical/urgent findings to referring physicians in a timely manner

- Actively participate in clinical meetings, tutorials, quality assurance, and other meetings as directed

- Be involved in research through protocol development, ethics submission,



data collection and analysis leading to publications and presentations at conferences, seminars, or other relevant events

- Provide continuing education to the team, fostering a learning setting that promotes excellence in clinical practice

About you

- Primary medical qualification (MBBS, MD or equivalent)

- AHPRA registration

- Completed core training in nuclear medicine

- Sound knowledge of molecular imaging techniques (required) and therapeutic nuclear medicine (desirable)

- Evidence of a track record in research relative to opportunity

- Excellent teaching and training ability

- Demonstrating commitment to high quality patient care

- Commitment to profession-led regulation and ethical practice

- Effective collaboration and teamwork with excellent communication skills at all levels

- Ability to effectively manage matters of patient safety and quality of care
