Mind Potential Psychology

Birtinya

Still love clinical work, but ready for something more?

You may love being a psychologist and working directly with clients - but be ready for the next stage of your career.

Perhaps you're already the person colleagues turn to when they want another perspective on a complex case, an ethical question or a tricky clinical decision. You enjoy supporting other psychologists, sharing your experience and helping good clinicians become even better.

If that sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you.

Mind Potential Psychology is seeking an experienced psychologist to join our Birtinya practice as our Lead Psychologist / Clinical Lead.

This is a senior role combining a deliberately reduced clinical caseload with genuine protected time for clinical leadership. You'll remain actively involved in clinical work while becoming a trusted senior clinical resource for our team and helping shape clinical practice as MPP continues to grow.

About Mind Potential Psychology

Mind Potential Psychology is an established private psychology practice on the Sunshine Coast, currently home to a team of 27 psychologists working across a broad range of presentations and client groups.

We're entering an exciting period of growth and are deliberately investing in the people, systems and leadership needed to grow well - while retaining the supportive culture, clinician autonomy and high standard of psychological care that are important to us.

As part of this next stage, we're establishing a dedicated Clinical Lead position within the practice.

About the role

Based at our Birtinya practice, you'll work approximately 4–5 days per week.

Importantly, this isn't a full clinical caseload with leadership responsibilities added on top.

You'll have a deliberately reduced clinical caseload, with the equivalent of one full working day each week protected for Clinical Lead responsibilities. This time will be distributed across your working week, allowing you to remain accessible to clinicians when support and consultation are needed.

You'll have meaningful autonomy to provide clinical leadership and make day-to-day clinical decisions within the practice, while working closely with the Managing Director and having support available whenever you need it.

Your Clinical Lead responsibilities will include:

- Being an accessible senior clinical resource for psychologists across the practice

- Providing consultation around complex presentations, risk, ethical issues and clinical decision-making

- Providing supervision and mentoring where appropriate

- Supporting clinicians to develop their clinical confidence, judgement and professional practice

- Supporting high standards of clinical documentation, assessment and treatment planning

- Helping clinicians navigate challenging referrals and questions around suitability or scope of practice

- Developing and maintaining practical clinical policies, procedures and standards

- Facilitating opportunities for peer consultation, reflective practice and clinical professional development

- Supporting the onboarding and clinical development of new psychologists

- Identifying opportunities to continually improve clinical practice across MPP

- Working collaboratively with the Managing Director on broader clinical matters and the development of services as the practice continues to grow.

Our psychologists are trusted professionals, and we want to keep it that way.

We're not looking for someone to micromanage clinicians or introduce unnecessary layers of process. We're looking for someone who brings sound judgement, experience and practical clinical leadership while supporting the autonomy of the psychologists around them.

About you

We're looking for an experienced psychologist who is approachable, clinically grounded and confident in their judgement - someone colleagues naturally feel comfortable coming to when they need another perspective.

You'll have:

- General registration as a psychologist with AHPRA

- At least 5 years' post-registration experience

- Robust clinical judgement across a range of presentations

- An interest in clinical leadership, mentoring and developing other psychologists

- Confidence navigating complex clinical, risk and ethical matters

- Strong knowledge of professional and ethical standards

- A practical and proportionate approach to clinical practice and documentation

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

- The ability to make independent clinical decisions while knowing when collaboration is valuable

- Board-approved supervisor status, or the willingness and eligibility to become a Board-approved supervisor.

Clinical Psychology endorsement is very welcome but not required.

Most importantly, we're looking for someone who will be a great fit for our team - warm, capable, pragmatic and genuinely interested in helping other psychologists do excellent work.

Why join MPP?

This isn't simply an existing management position waiting for someone to step into it.

You'll have the opportunity to help shape the Clinical Lead role and the clinical direction of MPP as the practice grows.

You'll work closely with an experienced Managing Director and established operational and administrative team, allowing you to focus on what you do best - clinical work, clinical leadership and supporting psychologists.

You'll also have:

- A permanent employee position with the stability and entitlements that provides

- A reduced clinical caseload specifically designed around your leadership responsibilities

- The equivalent of one full day each week protected for Clinical Lead duties

- Genuine autonomy within both your clinical and leadership work

- Flexibility to develop a caseload aligned with your clinical interests and experience

- An established reception and intake team providing comprehensive administrative support

- A diverse team of psychologists with different clinical interests and experience

- The opportunity to influence clinical standards, professional development and future services

- A comfortable and established private practice environment in Birtinya

- The opportunity for the role - and your leadership within MPP - to evolve as we continue to grow.

Interested?

If you're an experienced psychologist who still loves clinical work but feels ready to contribute beyond your own consulting room, we'd genuinely love to hear from you.

Please submit your CV and a brief cover letter telling us a little about yourself, your clinical experience and what interests you about taking on a clinical leadership role with Mind Potential Psychology.
