About the role

As the Clinical Nurse Consultant, you will provide advanced clinical expertise in the assessment, formulation, treatment planning, and delivery of targeted interventions for individuals presenting with responsible mental health conditions and complex behavioural risks. You will also play a pivotal role in building capability within mental health services by providing consultation, training, mentoring, supervision, and specialist forensic advice to clinicians and treating teams.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

- Practice in accordance with code of ethics, professional standards and legislation affecting nursing practice by maintaining current knowledge and competence within scope of position.
- Contribute to the formulation, treatment planning, and implementation of targeted interventions for problem behaviours across mental health services.
- Deliver high-level evidence-based clinical therapy services, adhering to professional and ethical standards, with a high degree of independence, to achieve patient focused outcomes.
- Demonstrate advanced specialist knowledge, experience, and clinical skills in mental health services and forensic interventions.
- Demonstrate critical thinking and reasoning, advanced problem-solving skills,



and expert clinical judgement to resolve a complex caseload, adapting routine clinical practice based on valid and reliable clinical evidence with minimal direct clinical practice supervision.
