Senior Bookkeeper / Accountant at Allard Shelton, a Melbourne commercial property firm. This is a hands-on role with real reach. You will run the day-to-day ledgers and payroll, and you will also be the person producing board-level reporting, cashflow and the financial analysis behind our forecasting and strategy work. You will take full ownership of the firm's bookkeeping and accounting function, reporting to the General Manager.
Key responsibilities
- Record and reconcile daily banking
- Record purchases, process supplier payments, and investigate pricing and alternatives
- Raise invoices from requisitions
- Enter and reconcile advertising accounts
- Prepare periodic and month-end reporting — AR, AP, fee analysis, P&L; and payroll
- Process journal entries and prepare cashflow reports
- Manage, reconcile and replenish petty cash
- Assist with year-end financial reporting
- Prepare board-level reports and analyse financial data
- Write forecasting and strategy financial reports
About you
- Proficiency in MYOB and a sound grounding in bookkeeping and accounting
- Strong organisational, time management and problem-solving skills
- Professional written and verbal communication
- The ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Solid computer literacy — Word, Excel and accounting platforms
- Ethical conduct and a team-first approach
