About the Organisation

The Opportunity

An immediate opportunity is available for an experienced Senior Finance Officer to join the organisation on a four-week temporary assignment.

This hands-on role will provide senior-level support across the finance function, assisting with day-to-day financial operations, reporting, reconciliations and other priority finance activities. You will work closely with Council's finance team to maintain accurate financial information and ensure key tasks and deadlines continue to be met throughout the assignment.

With an immediate start required, this opportunity will particularly suit an experienced finance professional who can quickly understand existing systems and processes and confidently contribute from day one.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide senior support across financial operations
- Prepare and review financial reconciliations
- Assist with financial and management reporting
- Process and review journals and financial transactions
- Support budgeting and financial monitoring activities
- Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
- Assist with month-end and other reporting requirements
- Provide financial support and advice to internal stakeholders
- Undertake priority finance activities as required

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally demonstrate:





- Previous experience fulfilling the role of Finance Officer or similar position
- Strong finance acumen and financial administration skills
- Experience with reconciliations, reporting and general ledger functions
- High-level accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong Microsoft Excel and financial systems skills
- Ability to work independently and manage competing deadlines
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- Local Government experience will be highly regarded
- Ability to commence immediately and commit to the four-week assignment
