About the role

As a plant operator you will be performing trenching, grading, site preparation, and material handling activities.

Key responsibilities

- Operating excavators (14T and 5T), bobcat, pad foot and drum rollers

- Using attachments including auger, rock breaker, hydraulic grabs and spreader bar

- Carrying out daily checks on the plant/vehicle each day before commencing operation

- Liaising with site manager on how to plan out work on job site

About you

- Safety focused, capable of following site procedures, understanding of underground/overhead hazards

- Competent and experienced, operating different sized machines and attachments and have appropriate excavator and bobcat tickets

- Plans before digging, checks levels, plans the work, identifies services and considers access, spoil placement and machine positioning





- Mechanically aware – treats equipment properly, carries out pre-start checks and recognises unusual noises, leaks or mechanical problems early

- Good communicator, communicates clearly with spotters, labourers, supervisors, truck drivers and other operators

- Reliable and punctual – turns up ready to work and can be trusted to operate independently
