Coolamon Shire Council is currently seeking applications from suitably qualified and motivated people for the position of Plant Operator within our Engineering and Technical Services team.

This role assists in the construction and maintenance of Council’s infrastructure, including roads, footpaths, drainage and recreational assets.

All employees of Council are required to undertake a pre-employment medical, which includes drug and alcohol testing, audiometry and physical assessments.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Essential requirements

- Current OH&S; Construction Induction Certificate (White Card)

- Current MR Unrestricted Driver’s Licence (or willingness to obtain within six months of commencement)

Desirable requirements

- Traffic Controllers Certificate – Implement Traffic Control Plans

- Demonstrated competence in road construction and/or maintenance

- Experience operating plant and small equipment such as loaders, backhoes, forklifts, rollers and compactors

- Effective communication and teamwork skills

- A sound understanding of safety and risk assessment on worksites





The salary range for this position is in accordance with Council’s Salary System – Band 1, Level 3A to H, currently $1,117.96 to $1,265.40 per week dependent on qualifications and experience.
