About the Role
We are seeking a highly organised and detail-focused Claims Team Leader to oversee the claims function for our Transition to Work (TTW) contract.
The Claims Team Leader will play a key role in maintaining strong claim governance, supporting frontline teams, strengthening employer and education payment processes, and ensuring our TTW employer and education outcome activity is delivered with quality, timeliness, and compliance. This role will also build and maintain strong working relationships with educational institutions to support participants to successfully complete their studies.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and drive daily claims operations across employment and education outcomes, including placement start-date reviews, override risks, fall-over meetings, education evidence collection, retention tracking, and hybrid outcome opportunities.
- Manage PPSO activities across all regions, drive Claims and Post Placement Support Officer priorities, escalate evidence gaps early, and hold brief claims huddles to reduce missed claims and ensure required actions are completed before revenue opportunities are lost.
- Strengthen claims accuracy and quality by improving start-date accuracy, reducing DEWR overrides, enhancing retention monitoring, increasing education evidence collection, and identifying opportunities to secure hybrid outcomes.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with educational institutions to support participants to remain engaged and successfully complete their studies as well as securing the relevant documentary evidence for education claims.
- Ensure employer check-ins are completed to verify ongoing employment, confirm eligibility requirements, and maintain positive employer relationships.
- Oversee the request, review, and validation of payslips, education evidence, and supporting documentation required for claims and payments.
- Maintain oversight of accurate records, file notes, and supporting documentation across relevant systems and databases.
- Support continuous improvement across claims processes, identifying opportunities to improve workflow, reporting, quality assurance, and compliance controls.
- Ensure all claims activity complies with Departmental guidelines, contractual obligations, privacy requirements, and internal policies and procedures
This role is full time, fixed term until 31 October 2027 with the possibility of extension, working from home with the expectation to attend our Upper Mt Gravatt office on a Monday for meetings.

About You
You will be a confident and organised leader who can balance accuracy, compliance, people support, and stakeholder service.
You will have strong attention to detail, sound judgement, and the ability to interpret contractual guidelines and translate them into transparent operational processes for your team and frontline staff.
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Experience in claims processing, wage subsidies, employment services, finance administration, quality assurance, or contract administration.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and support staff to deliver accurate and timely outcomes.
- Strong understanding of compliance, evidence validation, record keeping, and privacy requirements.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to support internal teams and build positive relationships with employers, educational institutions, and other key stakeholders.
- High-level organisational skills and the ability to manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced contract environment.
- Confidence using systems, databases, spreadsheets, and reporting tools to monitor activity and track outstanding actions.
- An eagle eye for detail, with the ability to identify errors, missed opportunities, evidence gaps, and process inefficiencies, ensuring continuous improvement across all claims processes.
- A proactive approach to problem solving, process improvement, and maintaining high-quality service delivery.
