About the role

We are seeking an experienced Contracts Administrator to support the commercial delivery of the Mortlake energy project. Based in our Melbourne office, you will work closely with our site-based project delivery teams, reporting to the Melbourne-based Commercial Lead/ Senior Commercial Manager.

In this role, you will manage end-to-end subcontract administration, variations and commercial reporting while ensuring project compliance, risk mitigation, and strong commercial governance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage end-to-end contract administration across upstream and downstream activities, including subcontract packages, payment claims, variations, and contractual notices.

• Lead and assist with sourcing, tendering, evaluation, and contract award processes for equipment packages, materials, and specialized subcontractors.

• Partner closely with site-based engineers, procurement managers, and project controls teams to align head office contract administration with actual site construction progress and schedules.

• Proactively identify and mitigate commercial, contractual,

and financial risks across the project lifecycle to ensure compliance with corporate governance.

• Maintain accurate contract registers and prepare clear, timely commercial reporting packs for senior leadership and joint-venture partners.

• Assist in resolving commercial disputes and managing claims with subcontractors and suppliers in a highly collaborative and professional manner.

Skills and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, Commerce, or a related discipline.

• 3–6 years of experience in contract administration or commercial management within the civil engineering, major infrastructure, or renewable energy sectors.

• Working knowledge of Australian construction contracts, procurement frameworks, and commercial principles (exposure to EPC contracting or major equipment supply agreements is highly regarded).

• Strong analytical capabilities with commercial acumen, comfortable working with budgets, forecasting, and project finance systems.

• Exceptional stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with remote site-based teams and subcontractors.

What we Offer

• A strong prospect to support a pioneering, massive-scale hybrid solar and BESS development from our corporate head office.

• A professional, high-performing corporate office environment based in Melbourne.

• Flexible working arrangements to support your work-life balance.

• Clear technical and leadership career progression opportunities within a rapidly expanding global business.

Gamuda Australia encourages and supports a diverse and inclusive workforce, including those from overseas and current Visa holders.
